We’re Proud to Be a B Corp

We’re chuffed to announce that we’re a B Corp. But what is a B Corp? 

We thought you’d never ask. 

B Corps are certified companies that have committed to a new way of doing business, with each B Corp needing to meet B Lab’s high standards of social and environmental impact. Each company should be purpose-driven and create a benefit for all their employees, customers, and the wider community. 

In short, it basically means you’re a company that wants to use their business as a force for good. 

After completing a thorough application process, we’re pleased to say we’ve been certified on the first time of trying with a score of 86.9. Happy days. 

There’s been so many people working behind the scenes on this for the best part of two years and we want to thank everyone involved before saying a big hello to our fellow B Corps.

To become a B Corp, your business is looked at under a microscope. With a lot of interest put on the following five areas.

Here are some of the things we’ve been working on at Tiny Rebel.

Workers
We prioritise our team’s wellbeing by giving them access to our Bear Benefits package - which has lots of services to help with both their physical and mental wellbeing. These include an Employee Assistance Programme, staff discount, and a load of learning and development opportunities. When it comes to wellness, everyone’s a little different and that’s why we’ve been really tailored in our approach. We also aim to have 10% of our team trained as Mental Health First Aiders for anyone who needs them.

Community
We launched our Community Fund in 2022 which allows anyone involved with a worthwhile project to apply for a cash grant. We’ve had a lot of applications since then, including activities for young people, volunteer programmes, development of communal facilities, and even a new wheelchair for someone’s neighbour. And the best part is that it’s our Rebels who get to choose their favourite projects as their winners.

Environment
We do lots of things to have a positive impact on the environment. A couple of these include our brewery solar panels that produce around 75KWh a day - which is equal to around 11,500 pints. Additionally, with a few changes to our production, we’ve saved 1.2 litres of water per litre of beer since 2022 - equal to 10 million litres since 2022. 

Customers
Let’s face it, our drinkers are the only reason we’re able to write out this section to you right now. Listening to them and continuing to give them great drinks is behind everything we do. We’re chuffed to have a 4.6/5 rating on TrustPilot and we’re always on the lookout for ways we can improve what we offer to Rebels everywhere. 

Governance
We’ve adopted a legal entity that requires directors to consider the impact of their decisions on all of our stakeholders - workers, communities, customers, suppliers and the environment -  not just shareholders.
